The Four Pillars Of The Global Call To Action

The foundation of FFN activities comprises the four ‘Pillars’ of activity each of which includes an orthogeriatric approach that addresses the patient frailty as well as the fracture management.

The Global Call to Action comprises four ‘Pillars’ of activity:

  • Pillar 1: Acute care
Multidisciplinary care of the acute fracture episode
  • Pillar 2: Rehabilitiation
Excellent rehabilitation to recover function, independence and quality of life, starting immediately
  • Pillar 3: Secondary prevention
Comprehensive secondary prevention after every fragility fracture, addressing falls risk as well as bone health
  • Pillar 4: Policy
Formation of multidisciplinary national alliances to promote policy change that enables the above three
